Avène Antirougeurs Cream – A Review

On the run up to Cybher12 I was introduced to the very lovely @FleurieFM who had tweeted to see if anyone was travelling to Cybher from Bournemouth.  I quickly introduced myself and we arranged to meet at the station.

Thankfully she recognised me straight away and despite a humongous small age gap we got on really well.  We discussed all manner of things on the journey there and back, found out we were both from Worthing, West Sussex and that she was doing work experience for a PR firm.

During one of our random conversations, we were discussing beauty products and I was explaining that I have yet to find a good moisturiser that doesn’t irritate my skin as I suffer from Acne Rosacea and Psoriasis.  Fleurie then told me she had the perfect cream for me to try – Avène.

Avène is a unique French dermo-cosmetic brand dedicated to each level of skin sensitivity; from sensitive, intolerant to allergic. Each product contains the Avène Thermal Spring Water, a unique ingredient whose properties have been endorsed by dermatologists over the years.

Fleurie sent me Antirougeurs Jour Cream to try.  It is a moisturising and protective cream for normal to dry sensitive skin. Tones local micro circulation; helps to reduce facial redness and the sensation of heat on the skin; soothes irritation; protects your skin from UV rays (SPF 20) and maintains an optimum hydration level. It also contains green pigments to help to diffuse the skin’s colour. It is also Paraben free.

I was having a particularly bad attack of Rosacea when I received this cream to try.  I suffer from spots and extreme redness across my cheeks, nose and chin.

The cream has a slight greenish tint to it (helps reduce the redness) and is light and non-greasy.  My skin drank it up and felt cool after each application.  What’s more, it smells lovely too!

After a week I noticed that the spots had calmed and were starting to disappear and that there was a definite reduction in the redness on my face.

I am now in week 3 and I cannot believe the difference.  My face is spot free and the redness is so much calmer.  I am even happy to be seen without make up – something that would never ever happen before.

I know it won’t cure my Rosacea completely, but I feel so much more confident now my skin is clearer.  I am definitely going to invest in their cleanser and toner to go with this moisturiser and when funds allow I want to try the Antirougeurs Relief Fort Concentrate for Chronic Redness.

  1. I do agree with all the ideas you have introduced for
your post. They are very convincing and will certainly work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very brief for beginners. May you please prolong
them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the
    post.
