If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you will know that the little people in our house are big fans of Olly The Little White Van. Last week the lovely tweeps at @Ollythewhitevan tweeted that they had a new app to download, so we just had to get it!
We are lucky enough to own an iPad, although the game is easy to play on the iPhone too and is perfect to distract little ones on a car journey.
On opening the app, you are immediately greeted by Olly’s theme tune (cue lots of singing) and then get the choice of two games:
- Delivery Race
- Fix it
Delivery Race
Help Olly pickup and deliver packages round a maze in three different locations The first course is the town, the second is countryside and the last is the beach. “Beep Beep”
Fix it
Olly’s friends are broken, help Olly put them back together by fitting their parts into the right places. This is an online jigsaw puzzle and challenges the child to get the right parts in the right places. We fixed Bazza, Ivan and Jethro and got them back on the road.
Isaac really enjoyed the game and completed it fairly quickly. Eliza is perhaps a little too young, but enjoys making Olly drive round Bumpton in the delivery race, even though she hasn’t grasped the concept of picking up the parcels yet.
I was a little disappointed that there was only three levels in each section, but I have been assured that there are more levels coming very soon.
