Easter Egg Hunting at Clouds Hill, home of T.E Lawrence

There has been one local National Trust property that I have been wanting to visit for some time, but we never seem to have got there – Cloud’s Hill in Bovington. Cloud’s House was once home to T.E Lawrence a British scholar, writer and soldier who mobilised the Arab Revolt in World War One and became famous as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. The cottage itself is very easy to find as is close to the Tank Museum. I think holding a Cadbury’s Egg… Continue Reading “Easter Egg Hunting at Clouds Hill, home of T.E Lawrence”

Camp Bestival 2016 – The Dingly Dell

Lizzie's Way

Tree Climbing at Golden Cap, Dorset

Tree Climbing

We love to find adventure where we live, so when I found out that the Big Tree Climbing team was heading to Golden Cap, Dorset, I rushed to get the boys booked in. A “yellow cloud of doom” weather warning for rain and high winds was hovering over us yesterday and I did have serious doubts that it would be on, but a quick tweet to my local NT Recruiter @Jurassiccoastin to find out told me that it would be on whatever… Continue Reading “Tree Climbing at Golden Cap, Dorset”

A Day out at Stonebarrow Hill and climbing Golden Cap

Golden Cap

I posted last week about the Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunts in conjunction with the National Trust and our plan this weekend was to try to do two or three over the Easter weekend. On Friday we took part in the trail at Kingston Lacy  and the kids had such a great time we couldn’t wait to try the rest.  The plan had been to visit Brownsea Island but hubby didn’t get home from work until 1pm so we decided to leave… Continue Reading “A Day out at Stonebarrow Hill and climbing Golden Cap”
