Last Thursday I took part in a ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ twitter party with UKMumsTV, who a currently running a giveaway to win the DVD and book (ends 27th Feb).
Written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt follows the adventures of Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max, the baby and dog Rufus who want to catch a big bear.
The makers of the television adaptation have really captured the charm and enduring qualities of this classic children’s book as it has been made with hand-drawn animation by Lupus Films and is exclusively produced by Walker Productions, with voices from TV favourites Olivia Colman, Pam Ferris and Mark Williams.
They sent us lots of activities for the kids to do, including a cuddly toy bear, the book and the DVD. During the party we watched the DVD whilst eating bear biscuits we decorated and doing a quiz, played pin the tail on the bear, made our own bear ears to wear and did some colouring – we even borrowed our friends new puppy Skye to play the part of Rufus.
We took the DVD and book on holiday to Scotland with us and must have read the book and watched the film at least once per day.
In fact, it inspired us to go on our very own Bear Hunt and we actually found three in Glamis Castle, although we did hide our own cuddly bear the rest of the time!!
If you would like to take your children on your very own Bear Hunt head over to UKMums.tv for some fab activity ideas which are sure to inspire you to have fun both indoors and out and to check out the #BearHunt hashtag on twitter for more inspiration.
