Last Minute Christmas Shopping and Sales Tips

I hate shopping.

Or rather I hate shopping with children in tow.

This year I have done almost all of my Christmas shopping online and although I have boxes all over the house, it has been so much easier.

If you still have presents to buy, like me, remember that this is the last week for free or cheapest online delivery for most stores.

I find that buying online can often be cheaper than in-store and it’s far easier to price compare online and find those ever-changing online discount codes. This week I saved 20% at Smiggle just by signing up to their newsletter and often find that www.myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk has some of the best deals.

You do have to remember to factor in delivery costs too. I am an Amazon Prime member which not only entitles me to watch thousands of movies and TV episodes, like Lucifer and Grand Tour, but it also gives me unlimited photo storage, stream a growing selection of two million songs included within the membership but it also gets me free, next day delivery on millions of items.

Many of the big retailers end their free delivery service on Sunday 18th December, although some do vary so it is worth checking out who offers what. Many only offer it if you spend £x amount, so if you order a shirt priced at £29 and delivery is £4.95, but there is free delivery on orders over £30 – add another cheap item to your basket and you’ve saved the delivery cost and got another potential gift or useful household item. If shopping on Amazon and you are not a prime member, use the supersaverdeliverytool.com to find inexpensive items to add to get free delivery!

Finally, many shops will start their January sales next week. If you are brave enough to wait until then to start your Christmas shopping, you could save a lot of money, however, you run the risk of that much wanted present going out of stock.

Happy Shopping x

  1. I love shopping, but like you, don’t like it when the little ones are around, especially if it’s just me and the husband isn’t around. Like you, I shop mostly online and yes, often times you can find them cheaper and easy to compare prices too without having to leave the comfort of your home 🙂
