Back in July whilst watching Dragon’s Den we were introduced to Write Size, writing pencils designed for children.
Sadly they didn’t win investment in the Den, but I loved the idea.
I currently have Isaac (8) who is working incredibly hard to earn his pen licence, Eliza (5) who is learning to write and Sebby (3) who is learning how to hold a pencil correctly and I am sure that using writing pencils specifically designed and made in proportion to fit in children’s’ hands would help children learn and improve their writing skills.
Write Size pencils were developed four years ago by Ross Williams, who created the pencils after his own experiences, as he watched his young children struggling with a tool which was not in proportion to their hand, as they learned to write.
Watching the struggle his own children had with pencils that were too cumbersome for their small hands, made him realise that they too needed the right size tools, for comfort and to help them learn easier and pick up the skill quicker.
The range of innovate pencils have been developed to help children learn and embed the correct writing techniques from an early age, preventing bad handwriting habits.
Write Size pencils are available in three sizes:
2-6 years – Learn control and grip
6-10 years – Improve confidence and ability
10+ years – Deliver results and great handwriting
