All over the winter season I kept seeing bloggers creating and making wonder soup recipes which I kept saying I was going to try but I didn’t have the equipment for.
Now I have no excuse as I was sent the Cuisinart – Soup Maker Plus to review.
For healthy food lovers and soup lovers, the Cuisinart Soup Maker Plus will create your favourite combinations of flavour-packed soup at the touch of a button. If I am honest I am a bit of a lazy chef as I don’t have time to spend hours in the kitchen creating a master piece but this machine is amazing as it really is as simple as adding fresh ingredients and some stock and watching the Cuisinart soup maker take care of the rest.
With no pans to wash or clean the SSB1U makes healthy eating quicker and more convenient. Revolutionary in its design and features, the Cuisinart soup maker has a rapid heating element and a non-stick cooking plate that allows you to sauté, cook, simmer and blend to create delicious homemade soups in 20 minutes.
The powerful motor and the stainless steel blades allow you to blend the hot soup to your desired consistency, straight after cooking. What’s more, it doubles up as a regular blender, ideal for creating your favourite smoothie or cocktail and even crushing ice, while also being perfect for making dips, sauces, dressings and purées.

It’s an amazing machine that not only makes soup but also risotto, chutneys, curries and even spaghetti Arrabiata – because of the new stir function. It’s also a blender, so you can make fresh smoothies and cocktails such as Mojitos!
I haven’t tried making cocktails yet, but I have made my first soup with sweet potato and butternut squash which was delicious. I never realised it was so easy – simply add your vegetables, some stock and some herbs and spices and press the button. It was really easy to clean too, something that surprised me as I expected to be scrubbing it for ages.
I also made a Goan Curry in the Cuisinart with a curry kit from Hari Ghotra. I used the machine to make the paste by crushing the Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Dried Kashmiri red chillies, Tamarind, Turmeric and then adding grated coconut and tomato puree.
The machine comes with a small booklet of soup recipes and there are a lot more recipes from all sorts of dishes from risotto to sweet onion chutney on their website.
I will let you know how I get on with the cocktail making!
I have never liked soup before buying my own soup maker. I make pretty often a chunky butternut squash soup which is so delicious that I can’t just stop eating it. 🙂
These soup makers look so good! My other half would love it – he eats loads of soup. x
I do love homemade soup especially in the winter and have been pondering whether to buy a soup maker or even just a hand blender. Now you’ve just tempted me …. 😉
We have a soup maker, but yours seem much better. I’m very impressed that you can make risottos and chutneys with it too!

Oh wow! I would definitely like one for myself because it would mean that soups would be a lot easier to make!
I can’t believe how easy it’s becoming, so high tech haha. The fact that there’s other bits to clean is a winner for me. Looking forward to seeing cocktails 😉

It sounds like a great little kitchen gadget. I love soups and all the other things it can make, especially coctails
I’m especially liking the sound of cocktails right now! I’d love to batch cook soups for lunches over the winter, this looks great xx
