Clothing brand Weird Fish is celebrating a successful year in partnership with The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), having raised more than £30,000 for the charity since the collaboration began in January 2015.
The partnership comprised three highly-successful charity clothing campaigns, whereby a percentage from each sale went to the rspb and which contributed to the growth and success of both companies.
Weird Fish initially launched a limited-edition Macaroni™ sweatshirt with a RSPB pin badge, closely followed by introducing a Lord of the Wings charity t-shirt, which received record sales.
In November, the unveiling of the Darth Wader t-shirt, ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, resulted in 60 per cent of stock being sold within the first week, making it the brand’s fastest-selling t-shirt of all time.
John Stockton, managing director at Weird Fish, said: “After such a positive first year, Weird Fish is proud to continue its work with the RSPB. We were really keen to support the RSPB, the UK’s largest nature conservation charity, because of its campaign to give nature a home.
We have an eco-garden at Weird Fish HQ and do our best to make it a habitable place for wildlife in the area and it’s something our customers are passionate about, as well.”
The Darth Wader t-shirt will be on sale until June, when Weird Fish will launch a brand-new Harrier Potter and the Deathly Sparrows t-shirt for the charity.
Weird Fish is not a brand I had heard of but having found their website I have fallen in love with their relaxed style so I was delighted when I was invited to review something from their spring range.
I chose the Mendota striped loopback sweat top. This soft, luxurious feeling striped top features their loopback cotton which feels great against the skin and includes:
- A round neck with a six inch zip closure on the centre back
- Contrasting bright lime zip trim
- A metal Weird Fish logo zip pull
- 2 open front hand pockets with the left pocket featuring an embroidered Weird Fish logo
It is so comfortable and has fast become my favourite top. I have been washing and wearing for a few weeks now and it still looks as good as new.
