Cycling with the Family

I love cycling but it is something that I stopped doing because the kids were too young and were not able to cycle themselves, but now things are changing.

Isaac is finally able to cycle without stabilizers and after a few initial wobbles he is confident to speed off into the distance. Eliza is work in progress as although she enjoys it, she needs to build up her leg muscles as she tires very quickly.

I have a child seat on the back of my bike which I used with both Isaac and Eliza as babies, so now it is Sebby’s turn to hitch a ride. I just hope he doesn’t like to sway from side to side like Isaac did to make the bike wobble!

To help me get going Halfords have put together this fabulous checklist to make sure we cycle safely in all seasons.

I think we will start gently with a few short rides through Moors Valley or Potterne Park and once the kids have built up their stamina we will start cycling farther afield!

  1. Great infographic in there! The essentials for me and my troop of kids are most certainly puncture repair kits and if we’re doing a longer cycle, lots of haribo sweets to keep them fuelled up.
