Putting Hotter’s Ribble Boots through their paces!

Regular readers will know that we spend a lot of time outside having adventures and this year this those adventures have been, well, rather damp!

I am a big believer that there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, but I have to admit that with the torrential rain we have been having recently, even we have opted to stay indoors.

We have, however, made a break for it when we have spotted a drier window of opportunity and got outside for some much needed fresh air, wrapped up from the elements of course.

Last year my wardrobe staple was my Carmen boots from Hotter which were not only stylish, but were made from Goretex too which kept my feet warm and dry – even when caught out by a rather large wave on the beach at West Bay. I literally lived in them all winter until flip flop weather arrived.

This year, although my Carmen Boots still looked good, I fell in love with the new Goretex Boots from the Hotter range – Ribble. The difference between these and Carmen were the finish – this came in either a brown suede look like Carmen, or a black leather which I opted for. My favourite addition to these boots though was the sole as they come with the same sole as their walking boots which is much more suited to outdoor activities.

ribble Boots

I have pretty much lived in these lovely boots since I got them in November as they boast waterproof protection and superior breathability too. The sculpted PU sole is filled with millions of tiny air bubbles which makes for a luxuriously light walking experience and they look great over leggings and jeans.

Although we have not had any cold weather as yet I am confident they will keep me warm as well as dry as they have a furry lining inside too and so far I have road tested them on a few forest walks, very wet and windy school / shopping runs and the beach. They rescued me from a rather deep puddle I managed to park in at swimming too!

Ribble Boots are still available and are now half price in the Hotter Sale – grab a pair whilst they are still there!!

  1. I agree we stick on full sets of waterproofs and wellies and then head out.
These boots look a bit more forgiving than wellies are as they can become uncomfortable as they slip on your feet as you walk.

  2. I love the look of those boots and how comfy they appear. I find it so hard to find boots that are both comfy and look stylish for the winter and wet weather. Great they are in the sale to. Thanks for sharing.

  3. They do look fab, I have two pairs of Hotter boots and love them both but they are more dressy, I could do with some like these that are more practical x

  4. This look amazing, I live in my walking boots at the moment, but these seems a really great side step in terms of the fact that they look really stylish too (and my walking boots are old and not really as water proof as they should be so I can’t join in with puddle jumping!)
