Blinds Supermarket Review

We decorated our bedroom at the end of last summer, however, funds ran out fast and I didn’t get the opportunity to change our old blinds over.  They went with the room so didn’t look out of place, but just looked a little old and tired.

I have to admit that shopping for blinds has been a little hit and miss over the years.  We have bought ready-made blinds from shops which have fit but fallen apart (or fallen off the wall) very quickly and I have also invested in made-to-measure blinds which have been fitted for us professionally.  The only two rooms needing blinds are the dining room and our bedroom.

Blinds Supermarket approached me to ask if I wanted to review one of their made-to-measure blinds and my opportunity to replace our tired old blind in the bedroom had arrived, even if it did mean my DIY phobe Hubby had to put it up.

Blinds Supermarket is one of the UK’s leading blind shops, delivering a fantastic level of choice for people who want to make their homes looks wonderful without paying a premium. Whatever kind of cheap blinds you’re looking for they stock the most popular types of blinds, from Venetians and Verticals through to Rollers and Romans; all manufactured to the highest standards.

There is an inspiring range of fabric colours to choose from and I did struggle at first, but as they were for our bedroom I opted for black out blinds in the end.  I was quite surprised to find you could get blackout blinds in a pattern and plumped for Bella Aubergine – delicate birds perched on leaves in the design add a fresh twist to an English country garden inspired style.

I think I must have measured the window a dozen times to ensure I got the correct measurement, but thanks to their handy How to measure guide I was confident I had done it correctly.

I ordered our blind on 24th June and received an estimated delivery date of 30th June, so was extremely impressed when it was delivered bang on time.  Inside the box was the blind, brackets and a child safety device.

Hubby marked out the drill holes, drilled the holes and then screwed the brackets into place.  You then simply fit your blinds into the brackets – it really is that easy and took less than 10 minutes!

At £75 these made-to-measure blinds are as good quality as the ones that we fitted for me and cost substantially less too, I paid double this for the children’s bedroom blinds less than 6 months ago. You can also create your own blind by uploading a favourite image which they will then print on your selected blind.

This is the first time we have had blackout blinds in our room and it really does help you sleep better (and longer) – long may it continue.

  1. We always have blackout blinds, in fact it’s one of the first jobs we do before we move in since the Beans always wake up with the sun, so we need to optimise on the darkness as much as possible. I’m currently looking for new blinds for our Kitchen/Dining room merge so will pay them a visit.
