A Perfect Family Weekend in London

With the blog name Chelseamamma people often think we live in London, but actually it has come from my football loving past and was actually my twitter name long before I started my blog – I love football and Chelsea FC are my team.

We actually live in Dorset, with access to some of the most beautiful coastline in the country and some simply stunning countryside too but every now and then we hanker after some time in “the big smoke”

Tots100 are running a competition to win a 5* stay at the Royal Garden Hotel and the challenge is to describe our perfect London weekend.

We don’t get to see Chelsea play very often these days as it is expensive to go with a family, but I would love to take the kids to a match at Stamford Bridge to take in the real atmosphere of a proper football game.  There’s nothing better than being stood on the stands joining in with the football chants and cheering on your team, the atmosphere is electric and it’s even better if you win! We may even hover around after the match to see if we could spot our favourite players – my claim to fame is I almost got run over by Michael Essien a few years back!

Hubby and the boys are fascinated by all things war and he is itching to take them to the Imperial War Museum.  Whilst they explore all the old military memorabilia I would take Eliza for a proper girly pamper and have her transformed into a real Princess at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique in Harrods – what girl doesn’t want to be a Princess for a day?

My cousin lives in London so it is also the perfect time for a catch-up.  She is godmother to Sebastian and Eliza and loves to spend time with them so I would take advantage of that leave her on babysitting duty whilst Kian, Isaac, Hubby and I did the O2 climb. We would then all celebrate with some artisan cakes before taking in the London sights from the Shard.

After all this the kids will be exhausted so after settling them to sleep in the sumptuous room at the Royal Garden Hotel, I would leave Daddy in charge and sneak off to the Therapy Suite for a pamper session.

What would you do on your perfect weekend in London?

  1. That pamper session would be high up on my list too!! Sounds like a great weekend of fun – I need to get back to the Big Smoke again soon, there’s always so much to do!
