Easy Indian Supermeals Review and Giveaway

Back in October 2012 I reviewed the Indian SuperMeals Baby and Toddler cookbook.  The “Super” of SuperMeals refers to the extra health benefits associated with these meals, over and above normal meals, due to the inclusion of carefully selected foods, SuperFoods and SuperSpices.  When fused together they produce scrumptious meals, chock-full of nutritional value for baby and toddler.

The creator of this cookbook is Zainab Jagot Ahmed and she has recently launched her new hardback cookbook entitled Easy Indian Supermeals, which contains scrummy food suitable for babies, toddlers and the whole family.

The meals are simple, nutrient-rich and tailored for a young sensitive palate.  Zainab encourages the use of a combination of feeding techniques, including baby-led weaning whilst providing invaluable feeding experience and parenting advice.  As you progress through the weaning stages, through the school years and beyond you can watch your little one grow up appreciating the food you offer and wanting to help prepare their meals.

Indian Super Meals

The book is jam-packed full of delicious recipes, colourful photos and information about food groups and how to give your family a balanced diet.

To get started you initially need to buy your Spice Starter Kit which includes:

  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Cardoman Pods
  • Cinnamon
  • Coriander
  • Cumin garlic
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric

As your baby gets older, starter kit 2 includes extra, more flavoursome spices such as Mild Paprika.  Don’t worry if you don’t like Indian food, there are many influences including British, Spanish and Italian plus vegetarian options too!
