Lego Hero Factory Review and Giveaway

There’s been a BREAKOUT at the Hero Factory and the villains are on the loose! Help the heroes with their missions and use their hero cuffs to ‘catch ‘em’ and cuff ‘em’ and restore order once and for all.

Meet the new generation of heroes and villains – designed, equipped and built for a battle in pairs! Each hero and villain is kitted out with complimentary weapons intended to create the ultimate duel…

Lego Hero Factory

We were sent two Lego Hero Factory figures to review:

Lego Hero Factory

FURNO (6293 RRP: £9.99)

“Come in FURNO! The villains have escaped through the black hole and your special abilities are needed. Some of the villains are heading straight for the water, so it’s lucky for us you’re equipped with a powerful aqua jet pack, harpoon and plasma gun. Get after them and do some underwater cuffing!”

These Lego figures are designed for children aged 6 and up and Kian (11) really enjoyed building them, eagerly watched by his 4 year old brother Isaac (with the exception of the exact second I took this photo).

He was kept occupied for a good hour and then the boys played with their new creations for ages, really firing their imaginations, with the aid of the booklets that come in the pack.

Lego Hero Factory

JAW BLADE (6216 RRP: £6.99)

“Warning! JAWBLADE has escaped to water planet Scylla. With crushing jaws, razor fins and magma blades, he’s really in his element, but we’re confident you can cuff and return that overgrown tadpole to the Hero Factory. Good luck!”

And here are the finished Lego Hero Factory figures – rather cool, so I’m told:

What’s more is that there is also a free breakout
Hero Factory online where you can:

  • Capture and return escaped villains
  • Play as the known hero characters and infinitely customise them
  • 9 unique worlds to explore including the HERO Factory
  • Fun factor prioritised as the key to all game elements
  • iPhone and iTunes content to support the campaign

Just when you think that Lego couldn’t come up with anymore there is also the new Lego Hero Factory Breakout TV series premiers on Monday 6th August (Parts 1 & 2) from 1pm until 2pm with repeats on 10th and 16th August on Cartoon Network.  The rest of the series will be shown throughout weekends from 8th – 29th September.

We were lucky enough to preview two episodes and the boys loved it!!  It is quite dark, so is best suited to children over the age of 6, but that fits perfectly the target age of the Lego too.

In my opinion the series has similarities to the cartoons of Transformers and Clone Wars with its plots and design, but it had the boys captivated from the start and they were really excited when they spotted the figures that we had built in the cartoon itself. I was reliably informed that it was “sick”, which is apparently a good thing and means it is amazing in my vocabulary!!

To celebrate the launch of the TV Series, the wonderful guys at Lego have given me some fab Hero Factory Lego models which are being launched later this year, to give away.  The lucky winner will get ALL of these worth a combined £66.

  1. Thanks its still playing up but at least I have entered this would make my sons day, as he loves all lego. We have a couple of the lego hearos and he loves swapping them about, so I might even be a cool mummy if I won these ! 🙂
